GLENFIELD – Shirley Ann Pleskach, 85, died early Friday morning, December 30, 2016 at Lewis County Residential Health Care Facility where she had resided since spring of 2013.
Mrs. Pleskach was born on August 30, 1931 in Carthage, the daughter of the late Ronald and Laura (Campany) Guyette. She graduated from Carthage High School. Shirley was united in marriage with Stephen J. Pleskach, on September 22, 1951 at St. James Catholic Church in Carthage. She and Stephen owned and operated The Friendly Tavern in Boonville in the 1950’s. In later years she worked as a store clerk for A & P Grocery, Montgomery Ward, and Sears all in Lowville. The couple made their home on Blue Street where she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband: Stephen, their three sons and daughters-in-law, Danny M. and Barbara Pleskach of Pittsburgh, PA; Larry S. and Joyce Pleskach of Brantingham; and Bart R. and Nancy Pleskach of Glenfield; six grandchildren; two step grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and five step-great grandchildren; her two brothers, Robert and Raymond Guyette; and her sisters-in-law, Donna Guyette, Barbara Mazur and Betty Pleskach.
She is predeceased by her sister, Juanita Brown, her two brothers, Richard and Gary Guyette.
Shirley was a member of the Singing Waters Senior Citizens Club and was fond of traveling, and entertaining friends and family.
The funeral will be held on Tuesday, January 3, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. at Sundquist Funeral Home, with Rev. Ronald Pominville, Deacon, officiating. Spring burial will be in Old Glendale Cemetery.
Calling hours for family and friends will be on Monday, January 2nd from 5 to 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
The Pleskach family would like to extend their gratitude to all of the 3rd floor staff, nurses, and doctors for the great compassion and care they have shown Shirley.
