Donald Trump said tonight he would appoint Supreme Court justices who will overturn a landmark abortion decision.

At Wednesday’s presidential debate, Trump said Roe v. Wade would be “automatically” overturned if he is able to appoint Supreme Court justices.

“I am pro-life,” Trump said. He added that he would make abortion a states’ rights issue.

Moderator Chris Wallace opened the debate with a question about appointing Supreme Court judges. He soon brought up issues of abortion and gun rights.

Clinton responded by saying she strongly supports a woman’s right to make her own decision.

Trump then said Clinton was in favor of late-term abortions where a fetus could be “ripped out” of a mother’s womb.

Roe v. Wade is a 1973 Supreme Court ruling that legalized a woman’s right to have an abortion nationwide.
