Saw Kill watershed community meeting April 4 in Red Hook

RED HOOK >> The Saw Kill Watershed Community will have its monthly community information meeting at 7 p.m. Monday, April 4, at Red Hook Village Hall, U.S. Route 9.

Plans for the upcoming Saw Kill Water Monitoring Program, other upcoming events and volunteer opportunities will be discussed. Sarah Mount of the Department of Environmental Conservation’s Hudson River Estuary Program & Hudson River National Estuarine Research Reserve will discuss the Hudson River American Eel Citizen Science Research Project, which brings scientists, students, and community members together to collect glass eels using specialized nets and traps on Hudson River tributaries each spring.

The Saw Kill Watershed Community is a volunteer organization formed to unite members of Milan, Rhinebeck, Red Hook, Tivoli, and Annandale-on-Hudson interested in protecting the Saw Kill and its watershed.
